About The Position

This role leads Walmart's Star Complex operations within the IT Asset Management (ITAM) organization. It is responsible for optimizing, governing, auditing, and reporting on IT asset spend, inventory, and return on investment across the forward and reverse logistics lifecycle. The role supports all domains (Stores, DCs, SSC) nationally in the deployment of assets, the ethical and responsible management of retired assets and data, and the monetary recovery of used assets through auction, resale, and buyback. Beyond running the warehouse and its team, this role is a key operational and analytical partner to ITAM. It drives data analysis and reporting, supports procurement and purchase order creation for projects and inventory, manages vendor relationships and the sourcing of quotes, and maintains accurate article and master data - all in direct support of the Senior Manager of ITAM's roadmap and in close collaboration with Finance and Controllership.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and report on inventory, spend, and asset data from SAP and related systems to support ITAM decision-making.
  • Build and maintain reporting and insights on stock levels, asset movement, aging, deployment, and recovery.
  • Turn data into clear recommendations for leadership, Finance, and stakeholders, and respond to ad-hoc data requests in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Support the end-to-end procurement process for both store replenishment (GNFR) and ITAM project needs.
  • Analyze store demand through the Goods Not For Resale (GNFR) process to determine stock procurement levels, ensuring Star Complex can meet the 48-hour service level.
  • Support the creation of purchase orders for ITAM projects as required, following Walmart's established procurement practices (quotes, requisitions, approvals) and maintaining proper segregation of duties.
  • Build and manage relationships with vendor partners as part of the procurement process.
  • Source and compare quotes, support negotiations, and manage vendor performance against cost, delivery, and service expectations.
  • Coordinate with Legal to put contracts in place where required, adhering to Walmart's codes of conduct and vendor management strategies.
  • Manage vendor holding, delivery, and invoicing to avoid unnecessary charges and project delays.
  • Create and maintain articles and master data in SAP as needed to support inventory, procurement, and reporting.
  • Ensure data integrity across the asset lifecycle so that records stay accurate, traceable, and reliable for Finance, Controllership, and audit.
  • Maintain physical and data quality across the warehouse and its processes to a high degree of accuracy against key performance indicators.
  • Own root cause analysis to identify and resolve errors and reporting discrepancies, and report financial variances to the appropriate teams.
  • Support Finance and Controllership with visibility into inventory values and historical data for transparency, reporting, and bookkeeping, including inventory valuation and accrual support.
  • Conduct in-person third-party warehouse audits to ensure GL accounting and reporting are accurate with partners holding Walmart assets.
  • Serve as the main point of contact and the face of Star Complex for stakeholders across the network on technology assets, inventory, deployment, and forward/reverse logistics.
  • Provide clear, concise information, solutions, and proposals to address business requirements on time.
  • Act as the SAP subject matter expert for warehouse operations.
  • Request and apply appropriate system access for associates based on their function.
  • Partner with support and development teams to identify, create, test, and implement system corrections and continuous-improvement measures for warehouse processes and financials.
  • Conduct and approve UAT for application changes prior to production deployment.
  • Develop, document, improve, socialize, and train standard operating procedures for all warehouse processes, in line with job function, safety, data privacy, and Walmart policy.
  • Work directly with associates to define, correct, and action process issues and improvements - improving efficiency both physically and systemically - and keep SOPs current and visible to the team.
  • Determine and adjust warehouse layout and space strategies so all inbound assets can be accommodated, including surges tied to new or used equipment for projects.
  • Ensure both systemic and physical storage capacity to avoid vendor holding charges, purchase order/invoicing issues, and project delays that drive additional third-party installation costs.
  • Direct a group of Team Leaders in the fulfillment of daily Distribution Centre operations.
  • Set and communicate departmental objectives; provide direction, support, and coaching.
  • Review reports and documentation for accuracy and consistency.
  • Monitor daily productivity (TPR), KPIs, and employee productivity, and devise action plans to address substandard performance.
  • Partner with Human Resources to manage employee performance in line with policy, and promote teamwork in serving internal and external customers.
