The AWS Data Center Availability Serviceability team works with hundreds of AWS data centers globally to deliver the highest quality and lowest cost availability, capacity, and scaling results for our customers. We standardize operations globally by delivering tools, policy, processes, and procedures to our internal teams. Serviceability is the ability to maintain, repair, and manage infrastructure assets efficiently throughout their lifecycle — encompassing maintenance standards, spares management, training and certifications, operational readiness, and the systematic use of data and automation to prevent disruptions and drive continuous improvement. We are seeking an experienced manager of Technical Program Managers to lead our Mechanical Serviceability & Special Programs team. This team owns the global maintenance standards, spares strategies, training requirements, and operational readiness for mechanical systems across the global AWS fleet of data centers including cooling systems (air handlers, chillers, air conditioners, cooling towers, liquid cooling), water treatment and distribution, and mechanical new product introduction (NPI), Fire & Life Safety (FLS), Physical Security & Media Destruction as well as critical cross-functional programs in Operational Readiness Testing (ORT) and new site launch. What you will do: You will manage a team of 6 TPMs who define and drive maintenance standards, serviceability programs, and operational readiness across the global fleet. You will provide technical and programmatic leadership to your team while partnering with engineering, operations, construction, and design stakeholders to ensure our data centers are maintained safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will own the strategy and execution for mechanical serviceability and multiple special programs simultaneously — setting priorities, removing blockers, and ensuring your team delivers results that scale. You will be responsible for hiring and developing top TPM talent and building a team culture that raises the bar. Why it matters: AWS customers depend on the physical infrastructure behind every service they use. Mechanical systems — cooling, water, fire suppression — are foundational to data center availability. When these systems are maintained well, customers never notice. When they aren't, the impact is immediate. This team ensures we have the right standards, the right readiness processes, and the right people to keep the fleet running as we scale. Why you will love it: You will have broad exposure to teams and leaders across AWS Infrastructure. You will own programs that directly impact data center availability and operational safety at global scale. You will build and lead a team of specialists across multiple technical disciplines — mechanical, FLS, security, and operational readiness — giving you a uniquely diverse portfolio. And you will have real ownership to define strategy, not just execute it. A day in the life You will split your time between people leadership and program execution. On any given day you might be reviewing mechanical maintenance standards with your team, aligning with operations leadership on ORT readiness criteria or new site launch criteria, working through an FLS compliance gap with regional teams, or coaching a TPM through a complex stakeholder negotiation. You will operate at both the strategic level, setting the direction for your programs and the tactical level, digging into the details when it matters.
