About The Position

Abbott is seeking a Talent Acquisition Manager – Commercial who is passionate about leading high‑performing recruiting teams and delivering strategic, consultative talent solutions. This role involves leading a team of talent acquisition professionals supporting the Abbott Cancer Diagnostics division. The successful candidate will partner closely with business leaders and Business HR to attract and hire top talent, deliver a best‑in‑class candidate and hiring manager experience, and leverage data and insights to continuously evolve the TA strategy, while ensuring strong team engagement and performance. Abbott's Cancer Diagnostics business, strengthened by the acquisition of Exact Sciences, focuses on advancing early cancer detection and precision oncology tools. This position is an onsite role in Madison, WI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 6+ years of full cycle recruiting experience, 3 years of in‑house TA experience.
  • Full‑cycle recruiting experience within healthcare or adjacent industries across main functions: commercial, manufacturing, scientific, and corporate function.
  • Proven ability to partner with business leaders at the director plus level to influence hiring strategies and deliver against recruiting objectives.
  • Subject matter expertise in direct sourcing strategies and recruitment marketing, with a demonstrated ability to engage and convert passive talent.
  • Team leadership experience over a single contributor team or indirect leadership over resources assigned to a project.

  • Experience recruiting for Operations, Quality, R&D roles.
  • Team leadership experience with a strong track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing recruiters.
  • Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable talent strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of TA professionals to attract high caliber talent across non‑commercial functions and foster a continuous learning environment that champions a diverse and equitable culture.
  • Establish the most effective recruitment processes and selection practices. Execute with high quality hiring standards to meet established metrics and provide exceptional candidate experiences.
  • Serve as a strategic talent advisor to business leaders and Business HR, aligning recruiting strategies to workforce plans, growth initiatives, and evolving business priorities.
  • Drive and execute key projects and expansion initiatives, partnering with local and regional relationship managers and cross‑functional stakeholders as needed.
  • Lead full‑cycle recruiting for leadership roles and critical, hard‑to‑fill positions from role definition through offer negotiation and leveraging sourcing partners when appropriate.
  • Implement cost‑effective recruiting strategies, including direct sourcing initiatives and innovative attraction campaigns to engage and nurture top talent.
