About The Position

Drive the purchasing processes, tools and applications for the site/function. Advance subject matter expertise of purchasing processes, tools and application. Coach and mentor others on their strategic activities. The purchasing Manager is responsible for facilitating, mentoring and coordinating successful planning and inventory projects. This includes ensuring that both the technical and people aspects are taken into account, incorporating change management strategies. Manage resources to effectively help execute the site/function strategy deployment plans.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of global supply chain management, distribution methods, and global transportation services and inventory management.
  • Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes.
  • Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications.
  • Knowledge in Operating system ERP, SCM sub application related to suppliers collaboration & communication beside Reports & analysis application basics.
  • Manages overall relationship with internal Ops with high level of collaboration and team performance.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Significant skills required in multi-tasking and time management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees.
  • Ability Provides direct and indirect supervision of employees in a division/department OR provides advice on policy issues and consults with others in area of expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises weekly MRP outputs based on customer orders.
  • Ensures materials are available to meet manufacturing build requirements.
  • Addresses and resolves possible material shortages.
  • Supervises ongoing communication with suppliers to gather information on materials availability, cost, shipping and delivery methods and timing, problem resolution.
  • Works with A/P to investigate and resolve issues with payment of supplier invoices.
  • Assists in the resolution of receipt and supplier invoice discrepancies and IHA.
  • Works with internal customers to address, return and receive credit for defective materials and RTV.
  • Maintains responsibility for performance management, development, recognition, coaching and compensation of employees.
  • Reassigns personnel as necessary to optimize work.
  • Works with other departments to review and dispose of non-conforming materials.
  • Reviews with the team the last time buys for products that are end of life.
  • Reviews impact on the supply line of the new engineering requirements excess and obsolete.
  • Manages overall relationship with and performance of suppliers.
  • Reviews supplier performance and makes recommendations on changes or disqualifications.
  • Communicates internally committed delivery schedule for purchased materials required in production.
  • Supervises and maintains communications with suppliers trough SCM Tools.
  • Escalation point on dispute from kick off flexibility program (SMI) and drive meeting responsibility commodity Flexibility performance report.
  • Monitors and drives weekly Purchasing KPI performance trends and execution.
  • Buyer due diligence & escalation with materials are available to meet manufacturing build requirements.
  • Addresses and resolves possible material shortages.
  • Addresses the supplier’s performance to CM on service & collaborate support to customer business needs.
  • Responsible for Celestica compliance with internal and external audits in alignment with procedures and policies.
  • Ensures Celestica is compliant with customs and regulatory laws.
