The Manager of Supply Chain Planning is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the successful execution of a division operating plan for a Harbor Freight Tools Main Distribution Center (MDC). This role owns all tools and processes related to multi-shift and multi-site planning across various horizons (daily, monthly, quarterly, annually). The Manager will ensure the operating plan is fully calibrated based on forecasts and DC labor capability. This includes following up on variances in performance to plan with operations leadership, comparing actual volumes to forecast, and making necessary adjustments to align tools to the current state of the business. The Manager maintains the operating plan and prepares all requisite outputs for SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning). With strategic guidance and partnership from the Sr. Manager of Operations Planning, the Manager coordinates with MDC Senior leadership to secure buy-in to the operating plan, submits staffing requests to Talent Acquisition, and prepares business cases for equipment needs based on volume movements or the introduction of new processes to the operating model. The Manager disseminates their operating plan via a team of Shift Planning Managers (SPMs) and their staff, providing direct support to SPMs and ensuring they can provide real-time representation to the operations team on their respective shifts. The Manager must be able to move between shifts as needed to support all managers on their team and drive continuous improvement initiatives across all shifts.
