About The Position

Support the end-to-end delivery of US HSBC North America Holdings (HNAH) and Group stress testing activities, including Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) and HSBC Global (Group) stress tests, within Treasury Finance. The role is responsible for high-quality execution across analysis, review and challenge, documentation, process controls, process improvement, governance support and submission readiness. You’ll work closely with Finance, Treasury, Business and Risk stakeholders across HNAH and Group to ensure stress test outputs are accurate, well-controlled, explainable, and regulator-ready.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in an analytical role within a bank or large financial services firm, preferably in Treasury, Finance, Capital Planning, FP&A, or Risk, with preference given to applicants with prior CCAR experience
• Demonstrable experience delivering time-sensitive analytical outputs with strong attention to detail and governance discipline
• Proven ability to produce regulator/senior management-ready documentation and maintain a robust audit trail
• Experience working across multiple stakeholders and managing dependencies under tight deadlines
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills (variance analysis, driver attribution, reconciliations, quality checks)
• Strong written communication: ability to convert technical outputs into clear narratives for governance
• Advanced Excel skills; strong PowerPoint skills for pack creation
• Structured problem-solving, proactive risk management and ability to work independently with appropriate escalation
• Collaborative working style and comfort operating across teams and time zones
• Bachelor’s degree required (Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or other quantitative discipline preferred)

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in CCAR, with knowledge and understanding of CCAR regulations and overall CCAR requirements and process
• Experience with workflow/control and reporting tools such as Appian, Helios, and/or TM1 (or similar planning/reporting systems)
• Exposure to regulatory exams, audit interactions, and issue remediation
• Relevant professional qualifications a plus (e.g., CFA, FRM) but not required

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of CCAR and other US/Group stress tests in line with agreed timelines and governance
• Execute and/or support model runs and results production for balance sheet and P&L components including: loans, deposits, non-interest revenue (NIR), and miscellaneous assets & liabilities, and produce results across retail and wholesale revenue streams
• Perform analysis of stress test outputs including movement/variance analysis, sensitivities, trend reviews, and identification of key drivers
• Prepare clear, decision-useful commentary, presentations and documentation for senior management, including narratives suitable for governance forums
• Production of regulatory submissions such as FRY-14A and FRY-14Q PPNR, and required regulatory documentation, including controls and quality assurance to ensure regulatory compliance
• Conduct and document model- and management-level Review & Challenge (R&C), including checks on reasonableness, completeness, adherence to standards, and closure of follow-up of questions
• Partner with model owners and accountable executives in Business, Risk, Finance to analyze, review and challenge stress test submissions in support of governance sign-offs
• Produce and maintain high-quality stress testing documentation (methodology narratives, process/run books, evidence packs, control checklists, assumptions logs, and decision logs)
• Execute and evidence process controls and assurance activities, including maintaining records in relevant tooling (e.g., Helios for controls/assurance, where applicable)
• Support the annual Risk Control Assessment and contribute to ongoing strengthening of the stress testing control environment
• Support end-to-end coordination across stakeholders (Treasury Finance, Risk, ADA (model development), Businesses including IWPB and CIB, Model Risk, Regulatory Reporting, Technology and Group)
• Maintain schedules, dependencies, and delivery tracking; support workflow planning and process controls (including in Appian, where applicable)
• Prepare governance management materials for senior management and Board-level review, including action tracking and approvals coordination
• Support regulatory submission readiness through completeness checks, tie-outs, and audit-trail quality control
• Support BAU operation and continuous improvement for CCAR-related platforms and reporting processes (e.g., STAR/TM1 and supporting tools), including run reproducibility and controlled change management
• Support CCAR regulatory reporting processes (e.g., “14A” schedules where applicable) through reconciliations, traceability, and documentation
• Support maintenance and evidence of data lineage and traceability from source inputs to final outputs, including linkages to internal/regulatory reporting standards (including IRR-related lineage where relevant)
• Support preparation for and coordination of the annual Horizontal Capital Review exam, including evidence collation, response drafting support, and deliverables tracking
• Support remediation of stress testing-related audit and regulator findings, including action plan tracking, evidence production, and control/process enhancements
• Support R&C and coordination of Group-led stress tests and related approvals/governance, including coordination of inputs and evidence packs for exercises such as GIST/GRP/RST and relevant UK/Group regulatory requests (e.g., PRA-related)
• Implement new models, tools, processes or automated solutions to support any changes in requirements as a result of regulatory changes or banking category designation
• Improve efficiency and reduce cost of existing processes by leveraging HSBC artificial intelligence tools and other methods of automation
• Convert manual spreadsheets to automated solutions leverageing tools such as Alteryx or other tools where applicable
• Support the incremental process improvement process conducted after each annual CCAR cycle
• Make day-to-day decisions within assigned workstreams (analysis approach, control evidence, documentation quality checks), escalating issues, risks and timeline slippages promptly
• Support senior decision-making by producing analysis and materials used in governance and regulatory readiness activities
