About The Position

The Data & Quantitative Sciences (DQS) organization at Bristol Myers Squibb is dedicated to advancing drug development through data, analytics, statistics, and quantitative sciences. DQS collaborates across Research & Development to expedite decision-making, enhance operational efficiency, and facilitate the delivery of innovative medicines to patients globally. The DQS Strategy & Operations team acts as the organizational backbone, ensuring effective governance, execution, communication, workforce engagement, and business operations. This team works closely with the DQS Leadership Team (LT), Human Resources, Finance, Procurement, Compliance, and business stakeholders to guarantee that organizational priorities are implemented efficiently and consistently. The Strategy and Operations Manager is instrumental in the success of the DQS operating model by driving governance, operational excellence, leadership communications, engagement programs, and overall business operations. As a member of the DQS Strategy & Operations team, this individual will be a trusted partner to the DQS Leadership Team, ensuring that organizational priorities are translated into actionable plans and executed with precision. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and focused on execution, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic global setting. This role demands strong project management, communication, stakeholder engagement, and operational skills to support a complex, matrixed organization. The Leadership Operations Manager will identify risks, foster accountability, proactively resolve issues, and continuously improve operational processes to enhance the overall effectiveness of the DQS organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Project Management, Operations, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business operations, strategy and operations, program management, organizational effectiveness, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders and working within complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, and Copilot-enabled productivity tools.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences industry.
  • Experience supporting leadership teams, governance processes, and executive communications.
  • Familiarity with procurement, financial operations, contracts, and invoicing processes.
  • Experience administering SharePoint sites and collaboration platforms.
  • Experience with reporting, dashboards, metrics, and business performance tracking.
  • Knowledge of quality, compliance, audit, or inspection-related processes.
  • Experience with queries, reporting, and/or dashboard features of document or data repositories, e.g., Veeva, a plus.
  • Experience with SAP/Ariba for invoicing and contracts preferred.
  • Familiarity with the principles of GCP or similar guidance documents and ability to proactively ensure compliance a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own the DQS Leadership Team's governance cadence, agenda planning, and meeting logistics.
  • Track leadership action items and commitments to ensure accountability and follow-through.
  • Build and maintain leadership dashboards, scorecards, and the annual operating calendar.
  • Surface execution risks and interdependencies, and drive visibility into organizational priorities.
  • Lead planning and execution of DQS Town Hall, DQS Week, and other leadership forums and events.
  • Organize leadership offsites, strategy sessions, and summits.
  • Manage executive communication calendars and ensure consistent organizational messaging.
  • Develop executive presentations and organizational storytelling materials.
  • Coordinate leadership visits to key global sites.
  • Partner with HR on the annual talent and calendar and high-potential talent programs.
  • Drive enterprise survey action planning and track progress against commitments.
  • Support onboarding, assimilation, and cross-functional networking and culture-building initiatives.
  • Coordinate KPI reviews and maintain operational health metrics and performance indicators.
  • Track quality, audit, inspection, and compliance action items, and support organizational readiness.
  • Manage contracts, purchase orders, invoicing, and accrual tracking in partnership with Finance, Procurement, and Legal.
  • Monitor operational expenditures and support budget governance.
  • Own SharePoint administration, including permissions, access requests, and content governance.
  • Coordinate updates to operational templates, tools, and repositories, and support process automation.
