Manager, Strategic Sourcing and Customer Contracting

Procare SolutionsDenver, CO
Hybrid

About The Position

This is a hybrid commercial-finance role that gives one leader ownership of the two sides of the company's contractual spend and revenue terms: Strategic Sourcing — how we buy: vendor selection, negotiation, and cost management across software, services, and infrastructure spend. Customer Contracting — how we sell: contract structuring, terms negotiation, and commercial risk management on the revenue side, working closely with Sales, Legal, and Revenue Operations. Both sides ultimately roll up to the same goal the Controller owns: predictable, well-governed contract economics — costs that are negotiated and controlled, and revenue terms that are accurately priced, billed, and recognized. This role is the connective tissue between procurement discipline and revenue contract integrity. This is not a traditional procurement-only or legal-only role. We're looking for someone comfortable operating at the intersection of finance, commercial negotiation, and contract operations.

Requirements

  • 7+ years' of experience across sourcing/procurement, contracts management, deal desk, or revenue operations — ideally with exposure to both sides (vendor and customer contracting).
  • Experience in a B2B SaaS or tech environment, with familiarity with SaaS commercial models (subscription pricing, usage-based billing, multi-year terms).
  • Strong contract negotiation skills and comfort reading/redlining commercial terms (not requiring a law degree, but fluent in contract language).
  • Experience partnering with Finance/Accounting on billing, revenue recognition, or spend management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management — this role sits between Sales, Legal, IT, and Finance and needs credibility with all of them.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing a new procurement or spend management platform (not just operating within an existing one).
  • Experience standing up or scaling a sourcing or contracting function at a mid-market company (200–2,000 employees).
  • Familiarity with CLM tools (Ironclad, DocuSign CLM, Concord, etc.) and procurement/spend platforms (Coupa, Zip, Procurify, etc.).
  • Experience negotiating with major cloud/hyperscaler vendors (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft/Azure) — enterprise agreements, committed spend discounts, and reserved capacity terms — as well as core business systems vendors (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce) — license/seat management, module expansion, and renewal negotiation.
  • Prior experience reporting into a Finance/Controller organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing and vendor negotiation strategy across software/SaaS tools, professional services, and other third-party spend categories.
  • Own the evaluation, selection, and implementation of a new procurement platform, transitioning off the current approvals process (Zone Approvals).
  • Build and manage a vendor management framework: contract renewal calendar, spend tracking, and vendor risk/performance reviews.
  • Partner with department heads (IT, People, Marketing, Engineering) to consolidate spend, reduce redundant tools, and negotiate favorable pricing/terms at renewal.
  • Own procurement policy and approval workflows; ensure spend is properly authorized and budgeted.
  • Identify and deliver cost-savings initiatives; report savings and spend metrics to Finance leadership.
  • Own the end-to-end contract lifecycle for customer agreements: MSAs, order forms, amendments, renewals, and non-standard terms.
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk to structure commercial terms that balance win-rate with margin, billing accuracy, and revenue recognition requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for non-standard contract terms, redlines, and pricing exceptions.
  • Maintain contract templates, playbooks, and approval matrices in partnership with Legal.
  • Ensure contract terms are accurately reflected in billing systems and support clean revenue recognition in partnership with Accounting.
  • Build reporting and dashboards (spend, cycle time, contract value, savings) for the Controller and Finance leadership.
  • Identify and implement contract management tooling (CLM) if not already in place.
  • Develop scalable processes as the company grows — this role is expected to build the function, not just run it.
