About The Position

The Opportunity? Finance Shared Services (FSS) is RBC’s centralized finance operations engine. As Manager, Strategic Initiatives and Delivery, you will drive execution of FSS-owned transformation initiatives—from process improvements and system upgrades to regulatory adaptations and organizational redesigns. You’ll translate operational challenges into strategic opportunities, integrate large-scale initiatives from adjacent teams (Operations Process Engineering and TEO Transformation Office) into business-as-usual operations, and serve as a trusted delivery partner who builds credibility through rapid learning and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in management consulting, strategy, operations, or business management with demonstrated success leading end-to-end program or project delivery across transformation, efficiency, or business improvement initiatives
  • Proven track record of managing complex, multi-workstream initiatives to time and quality in ambiguous, matrix-driven environments; demonstrated ability to navigate competing stakeholder interests and maintain accountability across organizational boundaries
  • Exceptional business analysis and problem-solving capability; ability to move from complex operational data to clear, structured recommendations; comfort challenging assumptions and stress-testing proposals
  • Advanced stakeholder management and influence skills; proven ability to build credibility and drive alignment without direct authority; comfort operating in highly matrixed, cross-functional teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill operational complexity into clear narratives for senior leaders; proficiency in developing executive-ready presentations and business cases
  • Solid financial acumen; demonstrated fluency with financial modeling, P&L drivers, budgeting frameworks, and ability to translate quantitative analyses into strategic insights
  • Rapid learner with intellectual curiosity; proven ability to quickly master complex business domains, operate effectively in ambiguous environments, and demonstrate observable learning and impact
  • Collaborative work style; genuine comfort building relationships, seeking input, and working through influence rather than authority; demonstrated ability to earn trust and maintain credibility across diverse stakeholder groups

Nice To Haves

  • PMP or CAPM certification
  • Experience in shared services, centralized operations, or enterprise finance transformation initiatives; familiarity with finance function operating models
  • Background in financial services operations or transformation; experience with enterprise finance systems, process automation, or digital transformation programs
  • Expertise in change management, organizational design, or workforce optimization; experience designing and rolling out new operating models or organizational structures at scale
  • Demonstrated mastery of program management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) or frameworks such as OKRs and balanced scorecards
  • Experience with regulatory compliance initiatives, audit management, or managing change in highly regulated financial services environments

Responsibilities

  • Execute FSS transformation initiatives from conception through delivery; develop implementation plans, manage dependencies and sequencing, and ensure initiatives deliver measurable outcomes on time and quality
  • Lead integration and rollout of Operations Process Engineering (OPE) and TEO Transformation Office (TTO) initiatives into FSS operations; translate enterprise initiatives into FSS-specific execution plans and work with business unit leaders to drive adoption and sustained value creation
  • Conduct structured business analysis on operational issues; identify root causes, validate assumptions, and develop clear recommendations that translate issues into strategic opportunities for FSS leadership consideration
  • Build financial models and business cases for initiatives; synthesize cross-functional impact, quantify benefits, and construct clear financial narratives that support leadership decision-making on resource allocation and priorities
  • Lead cross-functional stakeholder coordination and alignment; navigate competing interests, build consensus, and maintain strong collaborative relationships across FSS pillars and partner functions to drive coordinated delivery
  • Establish governance frameworks, risk mitigation strategies, and accountability structures for assigned initiatives; identify potential obstacles early and develop mitigation plans to maintain momentum
  • Support capability readiness and change adoption; identify capability gaps, partner with leadership on targeted interventions, and develop clear communication that drives organizational buy-in for transformation priorities
  • Rapidly master FSS business models, operating procedures, and stakeholder landscape; demonstrate learning agility, sound judgment, and observable impact to build credibility and trust across the function
