About The Position

The Manager, Strategic Alliances has the exciting opportunity to lead and scale partner relationships across the organization. This role is responsible for defining partner strategy, establishing governance and operating standards, and ensuring that strategic relationships drive product innovation, growth, and strong financial outcomes. In this highly cross-functional role, you will be a player/coach, working closely with Product, Legal, Sales, and Relationship Management teams to prioritize initiatives, manage performance, mitigate risk, and ensure alignment with company objectives. You will also serve as an executive point of contact for key partners. Milliman IntelliScript develops and deploys data-driven, software-as-a-service (SaaS) products for a broad spectrum of insurance, health IT and life sciences clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience building and managing strategic partnerships—across relationship management, business development, or related roles—ideally within SaaS or technology-enabled platforms
  • Experience managing complex partner ecosystems across multiple business lines or products
  • Previous people management experience

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve the company’s third-party and strategic partner strategy, standards, and governance frameworks
  • Establish clear operating models, decision rights, and accountability for partner relationships
  • Ensure partnerships align with long-term business strategy and product roadmaps
  • Prioritize and oversee third-party initiatives across Irix, Curv, and Emerging Markets
  • Balance near-term business needs with long-term strategic value
  • Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure successful execution of prioritized initiatives
  • Own partner performance management, including KPIs, scorecards, reviews, and improvement plans
  • Negotiate contracts with partners, including pricing, terms, and service-level agreements, to achieve favorable outcomes and mitigate risk
  • Lead escalation management for underperforming or high-risk partners
  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks
  • Ensure strong financial discipline across partner relationships, including margin awareness and value realization
  • Partner with Legal and Finance to ensure contracts align with commercial, risk, and financial objectives
  • Monitor partner economics and recommend actions to optimize outcomes
  • Serve as the executive point of contact for critical partners
  • Build trusted relationships with senior internal stakeholders and external partner leaders
  • Represent partner strategy and performance in executive and leadership forums
