About The Position

The Manager, Specialty Compliance and Ethics, oversees adherence to regulatory requirements and ethical standards within their area of responsibility. This role involves working with a cross-functional team of business and compliance partners to develop, implement, and maintain elements of a privacy compliance program for Walmart’s healthcare initiatives. Additionally, the manager supports associate development, fosters a culture of integrity, and ensures alignment with company values while driving continuous improvement and effective stakeholder engagement to uphold the organization’s commitment to ethical business practices. The HIPAA Privacy team leads enterprise compliance by managing policies and training to safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI). They oversee third-party compliance through Business Associate Agreements and provide real-time guidance to support regulatory adherence. The team drives data governance activities, including access reviews and public privacy notices, ensuring consistent communication and risk mitigation. By combining strong governance with proactive collaboration, the team enables business agility while maintaining ethical standards and regulatory compliance across the organization.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in compliance management and regulatory compliance within complex business environments, with an emphasis in health care privacy.
  • Strong knowledge of ethical standards, conduct, and policy development to ensure organizational integrity.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple levels of leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey compliance information clearly and influence decision-making.
  • Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.
  • Strong organizational discipline with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 2 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 4 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area.
  • 2 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to HIPAA Privacy-related questions and issues raised by customers, patients, associates, and leadership.
  • Support HIPAA Privacy-related communications to Home Office and Field associates.
  • Proactively identify and respond to HIPAA Privacy-related trends and concerns.
  • Collect and analyze data, as well as create reports and communicate findings to senior business and compliance leadership.
  • Participate in the development of recommended solutions to identified HIPAA Privacy-related compliance concerns.
