About The Position

The role provides governance and direction on complex credit situations, including restructurings and recovery strategies, ensuring consistent and disciplined remediation approaches. Acting as a key advisor to the SVP, Operations and Portfolio Management, the role delivers actionable insights and supports impairment, provisioning, and strategic decision-making. The position collaborates cross-functionally to balance risk mitigation, operational efficiency, and long-term customer value.

Requirements

  • Expertise in credit risk, restructuring, and portfolio management
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills in complex situations
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders in a cross-functional environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in credit, restructuring, or collections
  • Experience managing complex cases and working with executive-level stakeholders
  • Experience in commercial and/or corporate lending environments
  • Bilingualism (French and English) required

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the strategic direction for special loans, providing governance and oversight for high-risk, complex, or non-standard exposures
  • Ensure consistent remediation and resolution frameworks are applied across cases
  • Engage directly in key client situations (workouts, renegotiations, escalations)
  • Balance risk mitigation with customer retention and long-term relationship value
  • Approve forbearance measures, extensions, and restructuring plans
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and tools related to special loans management
  • Develop and refine portfolio management strategies and operating playbooks
  • Monitor overall portfolio health (delinquency, charge-offs, yield, utilization, etc.)
  • Provide insights on trends, emerging risks, and performance drivers, and proactively recommend corrective actions
  • Support impairment reviews and provisioning recommendations
  • Leverage analytics, scoring models, and prioritization tools
  • Support the development of guidelines and best practices in restructuring and recovery
  • Identify optimization opportunities to reduce losses and enhance recovery outcomes
  • Any other related duties that may be assigned to this position.
