About The Position

We're on a mission to reinvent the financial system and make it work for people. We are looking for an experienced professional to lead a full-stack engineering team comprising backend and mobile engineers. This position is based in our Mountain View HQ and will require hybrid work with in-office days 2 days a week. We have a top-tier team of engineers and leaders who have worked for tech companies such as Meta, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google, Uber, Dropbox, etc. As a hands-on Manager for our Early Bets team, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to designing and developing some of our early-stage innovative products (0-1). You will work with your cross-functional partners and team to shape the direction of our Savings products and help make it a significant driver of customer retention and revenue for the company. The base salary range for this full-time position is $266,000 - $326,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership in an IC or EM capacity.
  • Ability to dive into architecture and write clean, scalable code while simultaneously mentoring others.
  • Comfort working with cross-functional partners including PMs, Analysts, and mobile/backend engineers.
  • Experience leading teams that produce high-quality output on critical infrastructure.
  • Hands-on fluency with AI-native engineering workflows, including tools such as Cursor and Claude, with the judgment to use AI for planning, coding, triage, and technical decision support.
  • A creative, tenacious problem solver with a "get-it-done" attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a product-minded player-coach, balancing high-impact team management with hands-on technical contributions to rapidly build and iterate on early-stage innovative products (0-1).
  • Embed AI-native practices into the daily rhythm of planning, prioritization, and execution to accelerate the delivery and validation of "Early Bets" products.
  • Scale team impact by optimizing workflows through AI automation, ensuring the team remains agile and effective while navigating the high-velocity requirements of early product development.
  • Maintain deep, hands-on AI fluency to lead by example, leveraging advanced AI tools to design, develop, and evaluate the quality of engineering work supporting new product initiatives.
  • Coach and mentor engineers on critical, effective AI usage, moving beyond simple automation to sophisticated, disciplined engineering practices.
  • Own the full performance management lifecycle for your team, from setting clear expectations and delivering ongoing feedback to calibration, leveling decisions, and development planning.
  • Partner with product and cross-functional teams to translate ambiguous business goals into strategic technical roadmaps optimized for discovery and high-velocity iteration.
  • Drive the architecture and implementation of new features, breaking down complex problems and delivering high-quality code that serves as a foundation for scalable, high-impact products.
  • Recruit and develop a top-tier engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and constant innovation.
