About The Position

We are seeking a forward-thinking Manager, Software Engineering to lead our Aktiv development team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving technical innovation, managing a group of engineers, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions across various platforms and technologies. As an Manager, Software Engineering, you will guide team members to success, foster collaboration, and create a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, OR at least 7 years of industry experience building and shipping software.
Proven experience leading software engineering teams, growing talent, and navigating complex technical problems.
Demonstrated experience shipping both web and mobile products at scale.
Prior hands-on experience as a software engineer (Java and/or React preferred).
Strong ability to decompose complex business problems into actionable technical plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Manage, mentor, and guide a team of high-performing engineers, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful environment.
Provide continuous feedback, address performance, and recognize contributions. Maintain visibility into team health through regular 1:1s.
Lead strategic initiatives, balancing high-impact projects with technical debt management and resource allocation.
Partner with Product and Design teams to define roadmaps, prioritize backlogs, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused products.
Foster continuous improvement in code quality, architecture, and team processes.
Resolve conflicts, facilitate decision-making within the team, and manage cross-functional relationships.
