About The Position

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. The QA Agent team is focused on building and evolving an AI-driven testing platform that automates quality validation across web, iOS, and Android experiences. The team's core product, QA Agent, combines AI-powered navigation, bug detection, and cross-platform test execution to help identify product issues through realistic end-to-end testing. The platform is designed to explore products similarly to a human tester, detect issues ranging from obvious failures to increasingly subtle defects, and support testing across multiple environments and devices. This role will lead a team responsible for advancing both the product and technical foundations of the QA Agent platform. The manager will help guide investments across AI, infrastructure, and product-focused initiatives while partnering closely with engineering and product stakeholders. Success in the role requires balancing technical depth with broad systems thinking, helping the team scale the platform, expand its capabilities, and deliver meaningful quality improvements across the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

BS/BA in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent related experience
1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training
5+ years industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.
3+ years experience in large-scale system design and software development
Experience programming in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages (like Java/Python/C/C++/Scala/etc.)

Nice To Haves

MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
2+ years of hands-on software engineering/technical management and people management experience
1+ years experience leading developer productivity and quality automation efforts
5+ years programming experience in languages such as Java, C++, Python, Go, Rust, C# and/or Functional languages such as Scala or other relevant coding languages.
Experience in architecting, building, and running large-scale distributed systems
Experience in the design and development of performant, highly available, scalable web applications
Successful track record of managing teams of engineers to deliver multiple projects on time and with quality
Active involvement in the creation and execution of technical strategies and roadmaps

Responsibilities

Lead, coach and manage core team of engineers working on building the infrastructure.
Participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology roadmap for the team and company.
Have the ability to dive deep into technical discussions to challenge the status quo, and steer the team in the right direction/to push the envelope.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across engineering and business leadership.
Help the team realize their potential by setting clear expectations, openly evaluating performance, upholding accountability, and providing challenges to stretch their skills.
Drive a culture of operational excellence.
Lead the team into defining performance goals, metrics and building the infrastructure and tooling necessary to maintain a high quality bar and detect issues in real time.
Create an inclusive work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, innovation and learning, while holding a high bar for quality.
You will provide technical leadership, driving and performing best engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute critical, large-scale, cross-functional, and company-wide programs.
