About The Position

Snap Inc. is a technology company focused on improving communication through its camera-centric products. The Media Delivery Platform (MDP) team is responsible for Snap’s end-to-end media infrastructure, covering aspects from recording and editing to transcoding, uploading, media management, replication, storage, CDN, streaming, and playback across mobile and backend systems. This role specifically involves leading the client media platform team within MDP, which powers all on-device media infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience.
• 9+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 7+ year of post-grad software development experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 3+ years of post-grad software development experience.
• 1+ years of experience managing a team.
• Experience with distributed systems and web development.
• Background with building high-performant and reliable media systems, including optimizations from video player to video playback UI/UX.
• Experience with leading an engineering team.
• Ability leading and executing large, complex technical initiatives.
• Proficiency in, or a strong aptitude for, leveraging AI tools to streamline development, paired with the critical judgment to audit generated output for architectural integrity, performance bottlenecks, and security risks.
• Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools to remain at the forefront of engineering trends and modern development practices.

• Familiarity with driving large-scale initiatives from ideation to completion.
• Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Experience with Ops-heavy systems/products.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of mobile developers with deep media expertise in a fast-paced environment.
• Set strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead the team to deliver.
• Collaborate with Product, Operation, Data Science, and Engineering teams, as well as executive stakeholders.
• Evaluate technical tradeoffs of major decisions and provide strong technical mentorship.
• Hire, grow, and retain high-performing team members.
• Utilize AI tools and high-velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services.
• Uphold rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production-ready quality.
