About The Position

Hope For New York (HFNY) is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, innovative, and systems-minded individual to serve as its first Manager or Senior Manager of Collective Action. This role is central to HFNY’s growing collective impact work, leading two of HFNY’s newest network-wide initiatives: the Hunger Collective and the Youth Collective. The position will also involve stewarding partner relationships and managing key network events, such as the annual Nonprofit Partner Convening and Don’t Walk By outreach. This is an opportunity to drive significant, measurable change in New York City by building the connective infrastructure that enables a coalition of nonprofits, churches, volunteers, and donors to collaborate more effectively and achieve greater impact. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the prospect of serving as a builder and convener, empowering frontline organizations to perform at their best.

Requirements

  • Deep commitment to serving the poor and marginalized; personal alignment with HFNY’s Christian faith mission.
  • Manager level: 3–5 years of relevant professional experience; Senior Manager level: 5–7+ years, including demonstrated leadership of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Strategic thinker, creative problem-solver.
  • Experience in collective impact, backbone organizations, nonprofit program management, capacity building, or community organizing is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders — nonprofit leaders, community partners, vendors, and internal teams — with warmth, diplomacy, and integrity.
  • Strong project management skills; able to hold multiple workstreams simultaneously, set priorities, and deliver results on deadline.
  • Comfort with data: able to track outcome metrics, manage reporting systems, and use data to inform decisions and communicate impact.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience facilitating group meetings, trainings, or peer learning sessions.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and thrives in a scrappy but collaborative, mission-driven environment.
  • High level of professionalism, maturity, and discretion with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexible and adaptable; open to feedback with a humble and positive attitude.
  • Familiarity with New York City’s nonprofit sector and faith-based community preferred.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Asana, or similar CRM/project management platforms is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a related field preferred.
