About The Position

Ryan is growing its Federal Income Tax Consulting practice, focusing on Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740), across the U.S. They are seeking exceptional professionals at the Manager, Senior Consultant, and/or Consultant levels who are currently working in public accounting and are ready to advance their careers. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in accounting for income taxes, with hands-on experience in preparing and reviewing domestic and international tax provisions for both public and private companies. This role requires expertise in U.S. Federal Income Tax to provide income tax consulting services to corporate clients. Depending on the level, individuals may lead, manage, and execute federal income tax consulting engagements to drive value for Ryan’s corporate clients or function as an individual contributor. The job description details Manager-level responsibilities, but duties will vary based on the specific role level.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree from an accredited institution in a practice-relevant area.
  • 3+ years of practice-relevant experience.
  • 1+ year of management experience (formal or informal).
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and be a team player.
  • Beginner's knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Expertise in U.S. Federal Income Tax.
  • Hands-on experience in both the preparation and review of domestic and international tax provisions for public and private companies.
  • Experience in public accounting.
  • Ability to work on multiple engagements.
  • Ability to manage key client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of consultants providing review and audit services to clients, ensuring identification and pursuit of tax recovery opportunities.
  • Oversee ongoing projects and interactions between team members, clients, and taxing jurisdictions.
  • Review and evaluate all aspects of an engagement.
  • Make appeal recommendations and manage the appeal process for relevant clients.
  • Create positive team member experiences, leading to excellent client service and driving revenue and profit for the company.
  • Work on multiple engagements, manage key client relationships, and drive revenue and profit for the company.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members to help them progress in their careers.
  • Lead a group of indirect project team members and potentially manage direct reports.

  • Lead teams in developing project work plans and scheduling associated project deliverables.
  • Act as a mentor, guiding team members on their career paths.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and the firm’s leadership.
