About The Position

Responsible for the administration, coordination, planning, development, direction and implementation of the Security Program, policy and accrediting and regulatory agency requirements. Reviews and acts promptly to reports from such agencies and oversees department policies to conform to appropriate mandates and standards of expectations. Also acts as the Emergency Manager in the absence of the Director of Safety Security and Emergency Management and assists with the planning and execution of disaster drills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or higher level degree
  • Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) 300 or higher courses
  • Completion of State Emergency Management System (SEMS) course
  • Completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) course
  • California Driver License
  • California Guard Card
  • Four (4) years of security or law enforcement experience in a supervisory capacity

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
  • Serves as the leader of security personnel, managing the security staff and overseeing the day-to-day program.
  • Acts as subject matter expertise in applicable security related subject matter; understands, adheres to, and enforces standards, policies, and compliance of all security staff with applicable national, local and accreditation agency standards.
  • Reviews site post orders annually and collaborate needed changes with leadership.
  • Administers Job Site Analysis (JSA) and safety programs annually, outlining site-specific hazards for security guards on assigned shifts including vehicle / driving safety as appropriate.
  • Monitors, reviews and analyzes information from materials, events and the environment to detect or assess security related problems and report and act on each as appropriate for compliance and response.
  • Conducts and reports outcomes of annual security program reviews.
  • Acts as subject matter expertise in the development of policies related to security and the security program; responsible for implementing, monitoring and reporting effectiveness of those policies and procedures.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels through hiring, training and developing staff; coordinates needed support services to effectively run the security services and to meet or exceed financial and operational goals and provide quality customer service.
  • Develops and maintains a competent staff in both technical and professional skills through performance management (coaching, counseling, disciplining, annual formal performance evaluations, recognition, etc.).
  • Oversees daily operations of the security department and calibration of the weapons detection system.
  • Evaluates the competencies of assigned staff members and takes corrective action where required; includes ensuring defined training/processes are in place for all guards to maintain defined levels of performance, appropriate licenses and certifications
  • Investigates, reports and documents (both electronically and written) all security related incidents, safety hazards and criminal activities.
  • Assists the Director of Safety Security and Emergency Management with planning and execution of Emergency Disaster Drills.
  • Acts as the Emergency Manager and provides guidance and support to the Executive Leadership Team in the absence of the Director of Emergency Management; displays knowledge of the HICS emergency management system.
  • Manages and develops new employees instilling the values of Eisenhower Health.
  • Acts as a timekeeper for the department with the ability to review and approve electronic timecards for accurate timekeeping of staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
