About The Position

This position is responsible for the ongoing daily operations of Orthopedics/Neuroscience Services. Provides administrative and educational support to the Director to plan and develop all aspects of quality of care to achieve clinical and service objectives, fiscal performance targets, and the strategic plan and service line goals of both Laguna Hills and San Clemente campuses of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. The Manager has oversight and responsibility for staff performance; development and coordination of education programs & competencies; quality improvement using LEAN methodology; staffing patterns; internal and external relationships for the department; communication to administration and medical leadership; and fiscal management of operational budgets and equipment. The position is accountable to County, State, and Federal agencies as well as The Joint Commission for maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive management experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated experience and competency in operations improvement, clinical program and educational program development, organizational development, and financial management
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians.
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing required
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Card
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Current NIHSS certification required

  • Evaluates, plans, and implements standards and measurement tools to assess and improve staff and hospital performance, patient care, and ensure regulatory compliance

  • Accountable for recruitment and retention of nursing personnel
  • Plan and recommend new facilities or equipment as needed to provide patient care
  • Provides oversight for all technology to ensure enhancement of service operations
  • Other duties as assigned
