About The Position
The Manager, RMS Quality (Small Animals) leads day-to-day quality assurance and compliance activities for Small Animal operations. This position ensures adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and animal welfare expectations through effective audit management, issue resolution, quality system oversight, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, regulatory compliance, or quality systems within life sciences, laboratory animal, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or related industries.
- Working knowledge of animal welfare regulations, AAALAC standards, USDA requirements, and quality management systems.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and support compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
- Manage quality systems and compliance activities for Small Animal operations.
- Lead audits, inspections, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Monitor quality performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, animal welfare, and company standards.
- Partner cross-functionally to promote operational excellence and quality culture.
- Develop staff and provide guidance on quality processes and best practices.
- Support business growth initiatives, risk management activities, and quality integration for new programs or operational changes.
- Support the ongoing recording and management of organizational risks and mitigation activities.
- Assure all licenses are in place to enable compliant operations, and appropriate records are held and renewals maintained; either directly or through partnerships with relevant departments.
