About The Position

Manages, plans, organizes, and evaluates the staff and activities of the Risk Management group. Collaborates with the leadership in various projects and programs to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time-frame and funding parameters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience
  • 2-5 years of leadership / management experience, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Legal/Claims background preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to Risk Management team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
  • Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
  • Collaborating with independent actuary on a regular basis to request and review reports.
  • Acts as a liaison with insurance brokers to adjust coverage as necessary.
  • Assists the leadership in all facets of insurance procurement and risk management.
  • Assesses need and risk versus reward cost analysis, analysis of insurance product and negotiations with broker and carriers.
  • Identifies, assesses and weighs risk, working with related corporate departments (i.e. Legal, Finance, Facilities, Procurement, FPP etc.); reviews contracts and designs insurance provisions.
  • Reviews project plans to determine time-frame, funding limitations, procedures, participant requirements and allotment of resources to various phases of the project.
  • Confers with project participants to outline work plan and assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority.
  • Manages activities of project participants to ensure project progress on schedule and within budget.
  • Collaborates with the leadership on various projects (i.e. ERM, selection of data management the health systems, etc.) and operational oversight insurance companies.
