In this role, you will lead a team of analysts responsible for revenue recognition, general ledger accounting, and the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting to headquarters. As a key member of the Canadian Accounting and Financial Reporting team at Sandoz Canada, you will contribute to Sandoz Canada’s mission to pioneer access to medicines for patients by ensuring strong financial governance, developing your team, and collaborating closely with cross functional stakeholders to drive operational excellence. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA designation.
  • Minimum of 3 - 4 years of experience in accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multinational and cross-functional environment.
  • Experience managing improvement projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP, with a strong aptitude for digital tools and Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Fluency in oral and written French is mandatory.
  • Due to the nature of our operations, oral and written fluency in English is required for regular communication with customers, partners, and/or colleagues, whether in Canada or internationally.
  • Sharp business acumen for dealing with and addressing issues & opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills and a commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively with local and international teams.
  • Excellent communication with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong sense of urgency, self-motivation, and perseverance in achieving results.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day general accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure appropriate revenue recognition for rebates, copay programs, and price agreements, including review of key assumptions and accruals.
  • Perform and review key accounting cycle activities, including inventory accounting, royalty calculations, indirect tax reporting (TPS/TVQ), transfer pricing transactions, and audit support to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Review contracts and Prepare Accounting Position Papers (APPs) to support and document accounting conclusions
  • Drive process improvements and digital initiatives, enhancing efficiency and strengthening controls
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members (including service center associates), supporting their technical growth and overall performance
  • Support ad hoc requests from leadership, including analysis and special projects
