The Respiratory Care Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising programs to provide comprehensive patient care and services. This includes working with clinical staff to develop systems and procedures necessary for efficient clinical operations, provide training, information and support required by employees to solve problems to enable high quality, efficient patient care.

Requirements

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist with a valid license to practice respiratory care in the State of Pennsylvania, ACLS certified, certified in neonatal resuscitation.
  • Five years previous experience in charge related position with a Respiratory Care Department.
  • Knowledge of clinical staff supervision, program development and evaluation.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills and a willingness to lead by examples.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision and guidance to staff, including developing and coordinating clinical activities.
  • Resolving employees issues as appropriate.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates performance improvement initiatives and assist staff in implementation of these initiatives.
  • Develops capital and operational budgets in collaboration with Finance and makes decisions regarding expenditure of funds to meet department objectives and to maintain or reduce costs within budget amounts.
  • Ensures that staff is trained in technical and clinical skills.
  • Serves as resource to staff.
  • Provides staff with the necessary training, information and support to solve problems and improve operations at the staff levels.
  • Reviews performance of staff, assures staff competency and initiates remedial actions, when appropriate.
  • Provides direct patient care in appropriate discipline as needed.
  • Responsible for department scheduling and day to day staffing.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge related to the department and seeks opportunities to enhance professional growth.
  • Responsible for employee yearly evaluations.
