About The Position

The Manager-Reimbursement manages Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement functions for assigned hospitals and provides guidance on assigned system responsibilities. The position reports directly to the System Director of Reimbursement and is responsible for one shift, eight hours per day, five days per week. Overtime and call-back may be required by BMHCC.

Requirements

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent, as appropriate.
• At least five years of experience as a Medicare auditor or as a Reimbursement Specialist/Manager in a multi-hospital environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a hospital controller.
• CPA, MBA, or professional certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for assigned hospitals, using departmental staff and consultants; review reports before filing for accuracy and compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
• Respond to Medicare and Medicaid audit requests and develop documentation to challenge audit findings when necessary.
• Develop appeals and reopening requests for previously settled Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, working with hospital staff, outside consultants, and attorneys as necessary; prepare supporting documentation and meet filing deadlines.
• Serve as a system resource on assigned issues affecting all hospitals, communicate updates and critical information to internal and external customers, and provide training as needed.
• Remain up to date on Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations.
