THE OPPORTUNITY The Regional (Field) Training Manager leads the delivery of enterprise training initiatives to the field. They cultivate the training and development of leaders across all regions. Provide coaching and development on operational execution of all training initiatives, ensuring training standards are met, and role modeling the execution of 100% of the Chipotle standard. Analyze field-based learning needs and influence the design of training programs by providing input and guidance on training development, collaborating cross-functionally with key cross-functional stakeholders to identify gaps in content and facilitate stage-gate testing, and providing feedback on final materials before rollout. Partner with RVPs and TDs to support regional training priorities. Work with Region partners on bench strength. Ensure and support legal state county mandates. Help guide strategic legal requirements and training with DOJ. Partner with Regional Food Safety to keep our guests and employees safe. Support PEP partners with people questions and needs. Support onboarding training of RSC employees, RVPs, TDs and FLs. WHAT YOU'LL DO In addition to following Chipotle's policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to: Cultivate the training and development of leaders across all regions. Partnering with RVPs, RDOs, and regional leadership to assess and identify regional training and development needs. Collaborating with regional leadership to support development plans for Certified Training Managers (CTMs – including monitoring their performance), Field Leaders, and Team Directors by facilitating the delivery of training sessions to the field. Leverage both the CTM and RTM groups to test, assist in rollouts and provide feedback for all projects. Analyze field-based learning needs and influence the design of national training programs. Work collaboratively and cross-functionally within the Operations Services team, NRO, Restaurant Training, Learning and Development, Procurement, Supply Chain Teams and external vendors on equipment innovation, operational trends, and training needs. As equipment is vetted and approved, partner with Innovation, FSQA and Restaurant Training to review Training manuals and materials. Attend installations in new markets to gather as much information as possible to begin to draft and edit materials that will become the national standard for Chipotle. Lead and coordinate training initiatives. Owns all rollout-related training in the field with hands-on coaching and troubleshooting support for equipment. This includes training the RTM peer group as well as NRO partners. Maintain a feedback loop on the functionality of tools and systems. Validate both new and existing policies, procedures, programs and systems to quickly establish a ‘One Best Way’ approach in partnership with all project managers for the equipment. Assess critically all procedures and the cost associated with the equipment and try to find great value for Chipotle as well as streamlined processes that make operations easier and smoother. Monitor KPIs associated with equipment projects and roll that information up to Leadership with analysis. Build and maintain a sustainable training culture based on our values. Monitor the health of training through routine field visits focusing on how training systems are being executed. Coach our operational partners on the training of all current standards, procedures, tools, and systems as well as provide updates to regional leadership with data, facts, and trends.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university preferred
  • 8+ years in multi-unit experience in Restaurant Operations, Training, or related experience required
  • 5-8 years of supervisory experience
  • ServSafe certified
  • Skills include communicates effectively demonstrates self-awareness, selects builds effective teams collaborates technical expertise delivers an excellent guest experience instills trust drives results drives purpose and values.
  • Proficient in a variety of technology systems including MS Office- Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Webex Teams and able to adapt to new systems quickly
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time, stand for long periods in a restaurant environment, speak, read, and write in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT), Professional in Human Resource, (PHR), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Project Management, Instructional Design, or other professional certificates preferred
  • Experience in Adobe Suite, SmartSheet preferred

Responsibilities
