About The Position

This role exists to elevate maintenance standards, strengthen compliance, and drive cost efficient execution across a geographically distributed operation. The Manager, Regional Maintenance ensures our equipment, processes, and people operate at a level that supports network speed, safety, and consistency. Success in this role means building a proactive, data driven maintenance culture; reducing avoidable costs; improving CSA performance; and ensuring every terminal operates with predictable, audit ready discipline. This leader will be a force multiplier for field teams and a trusted partner to operations, safety, and executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred; minimum 7 years of related fleet maintenance experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical systems, fleet maintenance, and cost analysis, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
  • 10+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or trailer maintenance technician strongly preferred.
  • Deep expertise in trailer systems: brakes, suspension, tires, lights, electrical, and hydraulics.
  • Strong understanding of DOT, OSHA, CARB, and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with maintenance support systems such as M5, TMT, Dossier, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain organization, and execute with precision.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead regional maintenance execution: Build and implement maintenance programs and policies that exceed federal compliance standards. Conduct field maintenance audits and review findings with terminal leadership to drive corrective action. Inspect equipment, validate vendor repairs, and ensure adherence to quality and cost expectations. Address building maintenance exceptions and support CSA improvement initiatives. Provide hands‑on training and guidance to field personnel to elevate technical capability.
  • Strengthen systems, compliance, and cost control: Identify unnecessary costs and collaborate cross functionally to implement sustainable cost control measures. Maintain and improve Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) to ensure consistent execution across terminals. Ensure alignment with DOT, OSHA, CARB, and other regulatory requirements. Leverage maintenance support software to improve visibility, accuracy, and decision making.
  • Drive analytical insight and operational improvement: Generate location level performance reports to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Partner with executive leadership on strategic projects that enhance network reliability and efficiency. Use data to inform maintenance planning, vendor performance, and resource allocation. Support parts procurement processes to reduce downtime and improve cost efficiency.
  • Build cross functional alignment: Collaborate with terminal operations, safety, breakdown teams, and vendor partners to ensure a unified, high performance approach. Communicate clearly and consistently with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and business partners. Reinforce a “one team” mindset across all maintenance and operational touchpoints. Support Safety Team initiatives and ensure maintenance practices align with broader operational goals.
  • Elevate field performance and accountability: Set clear expectations for maintenance quality, compliance, and responsiveness. Coach and develop field teams to improve technical capability and operational discipline. Ensure accountability for execution, documentation, and continuous improvement. Champion a culture of ownership, urgency, and operational excellence.
