At Manheim (a Cox Automotive company), we’re looking for a solid, stalwart individual for the role of Manager, Reconditioning Service. If you have what it takes, this role involves ensuring vehicles are repaired and painted to meet Manheim’s standards and customer or account requirements, purchasing equipment, materials, and supplies for the shop, and overseeing the maintenance and protection of shop equipment. You will also maintain and develop staff by recruiting and training employees and providing educational opportunities. The role includes preparing estimates for collision repair, lot damage, transport damage, etc., reviewing work volumes, planning and continuously monitoring staffing levels, and setting an example in behavior, championing Cox/Manheim values and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect. You will enforce all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct, partner with various market level support teams to ensure effective and efficient operational processes, and oversee the quality control of vehicles. Communication and resolution of reconditioning goals, measuring process efficiency and effectiveness, and implementing improvement strategies are key. You will manage mechanics completing detailed inspections, preparing reconditioning estimates and completing repairs, and oversee sublet vendor partnerships in the Body Shop and Detail department. The role also involves completing minor to complex diagnoses and repairs to all vehicle systems, handling and disposing of all fluids in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and creating and maintaining vehicle history and maintenance records. Evaluating job performance, conducting performance appraisals, and directing staff to ensure high quality and accuracy in their repair work are also responsibilities. You will approve and forward bills to the appropriate personnel to ensure accurate billing and assist in counseling employees, monitoring and evaluating employee job performance, and conducting performance appraisals.
