About The Position

The University of Miami is seeking a Manager, Radiology to work at UMHC - UM Hospital and Clinics in Miami. This role operates under the administrative direction of the Director of Imaging and provides leadership and oversight for the GCRB Diagnostic Center and related services. The position is responsible for strategic direction, budgeting, technology acquisition, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The Manager collaborates with Radiologists and Technologists to implement services and processes, monitors physician and intradepartmental relationships, and promotes a culture of customer service excellence.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in healthcare operations.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience within the delivery of Radiology Services required.
  • Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Exhibits exemplary levels of professionalism and leadership.
  • Possesses superior organizational, oral and written communication skills.
  • MRI Certified Safety Officer Certified within one year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in an Allied Health Science Profession, (ARRT) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Managing, planning, organizing, and directing the overall Imaging operations.
  • Evaluating new equipment and services for cost-effectiveness and operating efficiency, with input from physicians and staff; recommending major purchases and implementation of new services.
  • Overseeing the proper maintenance of financial, statistical, and personnel records.
  • Preparing and supervising the preparation of various internal financial statistical reports.
  • Developing and maintaining the financial aspects of the department.
  • Preparing, securing necessary approval, and managing operational and capital budgets.
  • Coordinating all purchases of supplies, minor/capital equipment, and invoice payment.
  • Developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with Physicians and other UHealth department leaders.
  • Interviewing, hiring, terminating, counseling, and evaluating subordinate personnel.
  • Administering department policies and procedures, and consulting with Radiologists and Technologists in developing new departmental policies, procedures, and techniques.
  • Consulting with the Director in the establishment and attainment of long-range goals, objectives, and strategic planning.
  • Ensuring processes, policies, and procedures achieve agreed goals and objectives.
  • Establishing and ensuring compliance with all accrediting and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with Radiology staff and intra-departmental leaders to ensure the needs of the department and patient are met.
  • Monitoring ongoing financial performance of the department and taking appropriate corrective action.
  • Promoting customer service excellence culture.
  • Rounding throughout the area and appropriate ancillary departments and radiology stakeholders.
  • Communicating with various outside professionals and sales groups.
  • Overseeing Kendall MR service and staff.
  • Collaborating with Radiologist for MRI protocol development and implementation.
  • Developing and disseminating system-wide MRI policies, SOP’s and hospital MR Safety CBL.
  • Performing MRI Safety Officer (MRSO) duties.
  • Responsible for outside student onboarding/training, including UHealth preceptorship.
  • Conducting MRI safety training for incoming Radiology residents/fellows.
  • Overseeing existing and new MRI Research programs.
  • Overseeing the MRI safety support team.
