About The Position

The Manager, General Assembly position is a key role here at Rivian. Our managers motivate their teams to be their best and drive best practices to hit production milestones. Our team members rely on the direction and support of their managers for every shift to provide leadership and motivation. The opening will be located at our Normal, IL facility and reports directly to a Senior Manager within General Assembly.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years working experience in Manufacturing environment (preferably Automotive).
  • 5+ years Manufacturing Supervisory Experience (preferably automotive).
  • Must have good understanding of manufacturing procedures and practices.
  • Understanding of labor budgets, KPI's, and efficiency reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to coach and mentor.
  • Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Experience developing departmental plans and priorities.
  • Ability to control resources and policy formation.
  • Computer literacy including Google Programs
  • Problem solving experience – 8D method.
  • Manufacturing/assembly process experience.
  • Kaizen / continuous improvement process experience.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Specialized knowledge and strong experience in manufacturing operations, Experience in a high-mix, high-volume environment is highly preferred.
  • Experience providing leadership to managers, supervisors and/or professional staff.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 Sigma greenbelt or blackbelt desired.
  • Certification is an advantage.

  • Proactively and regularly develops and manages team member’s performance and capabilities, based upon company KPI’s.
  • Provides leadership and training to accomplish plant/company goals and objectives.
