About The Position

The Manager, R&D Business Operations supports organizational effectiveness across R&D by building internal applications, coordinating training initiatives, supporting reporting and process improvement efforts, and managing day-to-day requests across the R&D organization. This role is intended for someone with strong comfort using AI tools to build, learn, and produce polished, executive-ready work. Over time, this person will be trained directly on more complex, connected app work (BigQuery, SharePoint/Graph API) so they are not limited to the simplest builds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; field of study open.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in program management or digital operations support.
  • Demonstrated comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) to build apps, create content, and synthesize information without needing to write code from scratch.
  • Strong program/project coordination skills across multiple simultaneous workstreams.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • High learning agility — willing and able to pick up more technical build work over time.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in executive-facing materials.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director, R&D Business Operations to build and iterate on internal applications on the Haystack platform, using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code).
  • Take on app builds across the portfolio, progressing into more complex, connected work as skills develop.
  • Help clear the current backlog of requested apps and features so the team can respond faster to time-sensitive requests.
  • Serve as a point of contact for end-user questions and feedback across R&D teams.
  • Support tracking of project status, resource allocation, and workload distribution across R&D initiatives.
  • Help maintain reporting and dashboards that give leadership visibility into ongoing work across the portfolio.
  • Assist in coordinating recurring business reviews and standard reporting cadences.
  • Support documentation of processes and identification of opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Build out training content and materials for R&D training initiatives.
  • Build and maintain intake forms and coordination tools supporting R&D programs.
  • Support completion tracking and logistics for training initiatives hosted on Haystack.
  • Support ad hoc and strategic projects assigned through the R&D function.
  • Produce clear, exec-ready decks, summaries, and tracking tools that support leadership decision-making.
  • Coordinate across IT, Finance, HR, and R&D sub-functions as needed to move projects forward.
