About The Position

The Engineering Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving the engineering Quality Management System (QMS). This role ensures alignment with corporate procedures, project requirements, and customer expectations while promoting a culture of quality throughout the organization. The Engineering Quality Manager works closely with engineering leadership, project teams, and quality representatives to establish quality standards, monitor performance, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure consistent execution of engineering deliverables.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of engineering, project execution, or quality management experience.
  • Thorough understanding of quality management principles, engineering procedures, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering workflows, project execution processes, and document control practices.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in quality reporting, metrics analysis, and presentation development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain the organization's engineering Quality Management System.
  • Coordinate and support internal quality assessments, leadership reviews, and customer or project quality reviews as required.
  • Ensure quality management practices support effective planning, execution, evaluation and improvement, and management review.
  • Facilitate internal audits, quality assessments, and leadership review meetings.
  • Monitor corrective actions resulting from internal audits.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to strengthen the effectiveness of the QMS.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, tools, and forms on Responsible Business Practices (RBP).
  • Lead initiatives for new procedures and quality practices to improve engineering execution and consistency.
  • Manage revisions and updates to existing controlled documents.
  • Ensure alignment of documentation with corporate standards, project requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Support training and communication efforts associated with new or revised procedures.
  • Plan and manage project quality audits to verify compliance with company procedures and project requirements.
  • Monitor audit findings and coordinate resolution of identified deficiencies.
  • Track project compliance and provide periodic quality status reports to management.
  • Promote lessons learned and best practices across project teams.
  • Manage and observe interdisciplinary model reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Verify compliance with engineering standards and quality expectations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives associated with model review effectiveness.
  • Manage quality reviews across engineering disciplines and project teams.
  • Verify package alignment and consistency among engineering deliverables.
  • Monitor adherence to Zachry engineering procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Identify potential quality risks and ensure timely resolution.
  • Support engineering project managers and project teams in implementing quality requirements.
  • Administer the Corrective Action and Opportunities for Improvement (OFI) processes.
  • Receive, investigate, document, and track quality concerns and nonconformances.
  • Capture root cause analyses.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain quality performance metrics from engineering projects and engineering disciplines.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations for management review.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify trends and recommend actions to improve organizational performance.
  • Coordinate the receipt, documentation, and tracking of customer comments and concerns.
  • Analyze customer feedback trends and recommend improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain effective alignment and communication with Quality Representatives across ZEC and ZPI.
  • Share best practices, lessons learned, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support standardization of quality processes and expectations across organizations.
  • Participate in cross-functional quality initiatives and strategic improvement efforts.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for quality programs and initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of quality, compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor engineering personnel in quality requirements, procedures, and best practices.
  • Facilitate training and awareness programs related to quality management.
  • Support organizational objectives by driving consistency and excellence in engineering execution.
