This position oversees the quality, freshness, and food safety of grocery products within a distribution center, managing their flow from suppliers to stores and clubs. The role involves implementing and monitoring quality control policies, teaching quality inspection practices, and calibrating inspection methodology with USDA AMS offices. A key responsibility is overseeing the Seafood Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan, including reviewing and approving required documents, validating critical control points, and communicating with FDA Inspectors. The Manager will also provide recommendations to improve product quality by observing supplier facilities, recommending new standards, and instructing associates on cold chain protocol. Additionally, this role manages Walmart's fruit ripening program, including forecasting, ordering, scheduling, and educating associates on handling procedures, as well as managing and escalating exceptions. The position involves preparing and managing the distribution center overhead budget, overseeing cold chain compliance, and ensuring accurate and timely communication of product quality information to the distribution center.
