In this vital role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Incoming Raw Material Sampling and Inspection process to ensure that all raw materials and components meet the established quality standards before they are used in our production processes. This role will lead a team of quality control associates to maintain the highest standards of quality and reliability for our raw materials.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree
  • Master’s degree and 3 years of quality support experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of quality support experience
  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of quality support experience
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of quality support experience
  • Previous managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.

Nice To Haves

  • Academic degree in Quality Management, Engineering, and/or Life Science.
  • Background in Microbiology or Industrial Microbiology is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to work effectively with leaders and stakeholders at multiple organizational levels, build strong partnerships, influence outcomes, and resolve conflicts.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, including experience interacting with suppliers and delivering executive-level presentations.
  • Detail-oriented professional with strong analytical, problem-solving, and disciplined decision-making skills, including the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and make critical decisions.
  • Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements, quality standards, quality systems, strategic planning, and continuous improvement methodologies, with the ability to implement improvements and support organizational goals.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English, complemented by strong project management, presentation, digital technology, and interpersonal capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain standardized inspection and sampling procedures/documents for incoming materials.
  • Schedule and coordinate sampling activities in alignment with production needs.
  • Ensure that all inspection and sampling activities comply with relevant safety protocols.
  • Oversee sampling and inspection of incoming materials for compliance with quality specifications and standards.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with suppliers to address quality concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers to resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent future discrepancies.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards, regulations, and quality assurance trends.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable quality and safety regulations.
  • Participate in internal and external audits by providing a comprehensive overview of the current area.
  • Generate reports on the performance of incoming raw materials and share insights with relevant departments.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and develop Quality Control associates by providing guidance, mentoring, performance feedback, and leadership to ensure efficient and effective team performance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, best practices, and quality enhancement initiatives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of incoming Quality Control operations.
