About The Position

Leads and manages a team responsible for internal business projects from inception through delivery. Oversees project schedules, milestones, budgets, stakeholder involvement, and quality/delivery. Collaborates cross-functionally with departments and cross-functional teams of subject matter experts to ensure project completion and success.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of progressive project management or related experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • At least 1 year of management/leadership experience.
  • Advanced understanding of multiple projects and relationships between projects.
  • Expert knowledge of methods and techniques involved in project management initiatives.
  • Ability to learn new software with little to no instruction within a short timeframe and instruct others on functionality.
  • Strong operational/process improvement experience.
  • Advanced project management experience/skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid).
  • Strong data analysis skills/experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities.
  • Ability to create clear, accurate, complete, and concise reports.
  • Ability to work cross-collaboratively across a highly matrixed organization.
  • Strong verbal/written/presentation communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office suite (including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio), and applicable software programs proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees team responsible for all aspects of assigned projects throughout the project lifecycle including project scope, schedule, resources, quality, costs and changes.
  • Projects may include some or all of the following: system implementations, internal/cross functional department process improvement initiatives, implementation of new state health plans and new product lines.
  • Oversees detailed project plans to include milestones, tasks, and target/actual dates of completion.
  • Oversees revision of project plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Oversees schedules and project meetings to include logistics, agendas, and meeting minutes.
  • Prepares and submits project status reports to senior leadership.
  • Oversees project follow-up items with senior level stakeholders as applicable.
  • Manages project-related process improvements, workflow changes, project/program implementation and governance changes, etc.
  • Investigates, develops, evaluates solutions to a wide range of complex problems spanning across multiple projects.
  • Proactively assesses projects for potential problem areas.
  • Leverages understanding of project management methodologies, standard applications and project-specific software to support high-level/considerably complex projects and business initiatives.
  • May engage and oversee the work of external vendors.
  • Manages departmental budget as applicable.
  • Hires, trains, mentors, develops and manages performance of team; demonstrates accountability for team performance/achievement of established departmental goals.
