About The Position

Eversource is seeking a Manager, Project Planning and Scheduling to lead the group responsible for providing leadership, tools, and systems for effective and proactive planning and scheduling of complex electric power infrastructure projects for the Transmission Organization. This role oversees project planning and scheduling throughout the entire project life cycle (initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and close out) for projects managed by the Transmission Organization. Responsibilities include monthly project performance tracking and reporting, focusing on schedule accuracy, critical paths, risk identification, and forecasting. The position is also responsible for complex reports and analyses supporting Eversource’s projects and capital program, streamlining the scheduling process using Primavera, and ensuring adherence to company policies and standards. As a manager, this role involves work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and personnel recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree.
  • 10 to 12 years of related experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Project Manager, accountant, or financial business analyst in a business managing large complex multi-year projects.
  • Understands project management and project scheduling theories and methodologies.
  • Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to recognize and work with sensitive and confidential information.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or equivalent education highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle’s Primavera software and Unifier Project Controls or other project Management Information Systems is highly desirable.
  • 3-5 years of prior managerial experience is highly desirable.
  • PMP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project planning and scheduling throughout the entire project life cycle.
  • Manage monthly project performance tracking and reporting, focusing on schedule accuracy, critical paths, risk identification, and forecasting.
  • Streamline the scheduling process using Primavera and ensure adherence to company policies and standards.
  • Assign work, provide training, and resolve problems for the Planning & Scheduling team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and make recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Work with various departments to ensure schedule consistency with corporate goals.
  • Ensure Transmission's processes and procedures align with corporate requirements, updating and improving them.
  • Oversee and apply project analytics to schedule data to predict and improve business performance.
  • Create project reports to recommend actions or guide decision-making.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all scheduling information and proper coding of schedules.
  • Oversee the production of schedule reports, variances, and maintenance of the baseline change control process.
  • Monitor project costs and commitment to budget and forecast for cost loading.
  • Review, evaluate, and report on trends impacting project schedules.
  • Assess progress measurement and develop/update progress curves.
  • Present and discuss schedule information with stakeholders.
  • Plan, assign, and provide quality control checks for team members' work.
  • Create and maintain project-level KPIs and project statistics reports.
  • Establish and implement improvements to existing methods and procedures.
  • Establish new reporting formats and templates.
  • Oversee the analysis of project and capital program schedules for scheduling risk areas.
  • Oversee the integrated scheduling process to identify project conflicts.
  • Manage the project change control process, ensuring baselines are established and monitored.
  • Manage and maintain Eversource Management’s project schedule reporting.
  • Oversee the development of the Planning & Scheduling team, fostering ownership and accountability.
  • Manage performance by reviewing and evaluating employee work, building consensus, and communicating performance measures.
  • Assess and improve team and employee performance through coaching.
  • Drive and participate in continuous learning efforts, including onboarding and training.
