About The Position

West Monroe is seeking a Manager to join their Productivity discipline within the Organization, People & Change Practice. This role partners with clients to improve workforce productivity and operational performance by optimizing business processes, labor models, workforce capacity, and operating models. The practice combines operational excellence, workforce analytics, process optimization, and AI-enabled solutions to help organizations redesign how work gets done, aiming to improve throughput, service levels, cost, quality, and employee experience. Managers in this role will serve as engagement leaders and trusted advisors, solving complex operational challenges, developing high-performing consulting teams, and contributing to the growth of West Monroe’s Productivity practice.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years of experience in management consulting, professional services, industrial engineering, operations, or business transformation with experience leading client-facing engagements.
  • Experience leading workforce productivity, operational excellence, process optimization, workflow analysis, labor optimization, capacity planning, operating model, or organizational transformation initiatives.
  • Experience developing labor models, workforce analytics, productivity assessments, capacity analyses, staffing models, operational metrics, performance management frameworks, business cases, and ROI analyses.
  • Experience identifying opportunities to apply AI, intelligent automation, workflow automation, advanced analytics, or similar technologies (e.g., machine learning or robotic process automation) to improve workforce productivity and operational performance.
  • Proven ability to manage consulting engagements, build trusted client relationships, and contribute to business development through proposals, account growth, and solution development.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, engineering management, business, operations, analytics, organizational development, or a related field.
  • Ability to travel up to 50-60%.

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, engineered labor standards, work measurement, value stream mapping, or other continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex client engagements focused on workforce productivity, operational excellence, process optimization, and organizational transformation, managing scope, budgets, timelines, quality, risks, and multiple workstreams.
  • Assess business processes, labor models, workforce utilization, capacity, and performance management systems to identify opportunities that improve productivity, throughput, service levels, cost, and quality.
  • Lead teams in developing productivity assessments, workforce analytics, labor and capacity models, operational KPIs, business cases, and ROI analyses that drive measurable operational and financial improvements.
  • Design future-state processes, operating models, and workflows that leverage workflow automation, AI-enabled decision support, and digital capabilities while supporting implementation, governance, and long-term adoption.
  • Coach consulting teams, provide quality assurance, and build trusted relationships with client stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.
  • Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.
  • Build trusted client relationships that identify opportunities to expand existing engagements and support long-term account growth across productivity, operational excellence, and AI-enabled transformation initiatives.
  • Lead or contribute to proposals, statements of work, pricing discussions, and client presentations while collaborating across West Monroe practices to develop integrated solutions.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, market-facing initiatives, and industry activities that strengthen West Monroe’s Productivity practice and consulting capabilities.
  • Advance the Productivity practice by developing methodologies, productivity assessment tools, labor modeling approaches, capacity planning frameworks, operational KPI libraries, and AI-enabled delivery accelerators.
  • Mentor consultants and senior consultants through coaching, performance feedback, career development, recruiting, and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay current on emerging trends across operational excellence, workforce productivity, intelligent automation, AI, and process optimization to continuously enhance client delivery and practice capabilities.
