Your future starts here. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Are you ready to shape the future of rail transportation? Lead a skilled team that works on track construction projects, while driving safety, service, and productivity. Railway experience is preferred but 5+ years in thermite or flash butt welding is also ideal. A solid understanding of collective bargaining agreements (CBA) is essential for managing workflows effectively, and candidates with experience in construction or manufacturing management are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general equivalency
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of 2 years’ track experience
  • 100% travel (expenses are covered by CPKC), with a territory that spans from St. Paul, MN to Bensenville, IL
  • Capability to lead a project plan/schedule
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire teams to achieve goals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Railway experience is preferred
  • 5+ years in thermite or flash butt welding is also ideal
  • Solid understanding of collective bargaining agreements (CBA)
  • Experience in construction or manufacturing management

Responsibilities

  • Mentor an average of 12 direct reports to improve their efficiency and holding accountability when needed
  • Review planned capital work, confirms material, and execution requirements
  • Ensure CPKC regulatory compliance for respective track projects
  • Develop and implement work processes and changes with your team that achieve continuous improvement
  • Promote and ensure adherence to CPKC policies, safety practices, and procedures across all team members and direct reports, fostering a culture of safety and accountability
  • Evaluate planned capital work, validate material readiness, and confirm execution strategies to ensure seamless project delivery and alignment with organizational objectives
