About The Position

SIS is looking for a Production Manager with direct experience leading manufacturing operations, preferably in CNC machining or precision component manufacturing. This role owns daily production execution across shifts, including staffing, machine utilization, schedule attainment, quality, and employee performance. You’ll lead supervisors and production teams, coordinate with technical and support departments, and turn production priorities into clear plans and measurable results. Direct manufacturing machine shop leadership experience is required. Warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, or logistics management experience alone does not meet the requirements of this position.

Requirements

  • Experience in CNC machining, precision manufacturing, or a comparable environment where products are made through controlled production processes.
  • A practical understanding of machine capacity, setups and changeovers, cycle times, work in process, quality requirements, and production bottlenecks.
  • Experience leading supervisors or team leaders, developing their capabilities, and addressing performance issues consistently.
  • The ability to use production data to identify problems, establish priorities, and verify that improvements deliver results.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance immediate delivery needs and longer-term improvements.

Nice To Haves

  • CNC milling, turning, or routing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with plastics or composites is helpful.
  • Leadership experience in comparable manufacturing environments is welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing operations across shifts, aligning staffing, equipment capacity, and daily priorities with the production schedule.
  • Own production results, including output, schedule attainment, labor efficiency, downtime, scrap, and rework.
  • Develop supervisors and Production Leads, setting clear expectations and holding leaders accountable for team performance.
  • Partner with Scheduling, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve constraints involving setups, cycle times, tooling, equipment reliability, and process quality.
  • Build workforce capability through training, skill development, and effective use of operators, Setup Specialists, and Operations Specialists.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the manufacturing floor, reinforce safety standards, and drive practical improvements that increase throughput and process consistency.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) match: 100% on your first 3% contributed, plus 50% on the next 3%.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Company-paid basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, plus short- and long-term disability coverage.
  • HSA/FSA options, including company HSA contributions for eligible medical plans.
  • Employee Assistance Program, PerkSpot discounts, and optional supplemental and pet insurance.
