About The Position

The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing and directing the Production Supervisors. In addition, this individual will work with the Shipping Department and Master Scheduler to ensure that the production schedule in the Dallas facility is on track each day to meet Customer ship dates / times. They will ensure raw materials are available, work order packets assembled, and finished product produced is correct. This individual will ensure that all inbound and outbound movements of product are processed and accounted for accurately. Responsible for strict adherence to published production standards, Standard Operation Procedures and Company policies.

Requirements

  • A knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • 3 - 5 years of similar experienced required
  • Bachelor Degree required.
  • PC literate, MS Office computer skills required.
  • Solid math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Material handling equipment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directing the successful and on time completion of all scheduled work orders with production Supervisors.
  • Ensuring all resources are used in the most efficient means possible to insure production goals are met and or exceeded.
  • Working closely with the Master Scheduler to schedule work orders to insure 100% on time delivery of product.
  • Overseeing the movements of raw materials and finished goods to and from the production floor and shipping department ensuring accuracy of product count.
  • Tracking and maintaining inventory control.
  • Making corrections to raw materials and finished goods in the AS400 system.
  • Working with inbound and outbound coordinators to ensure components are received and shipped accurately and on time.
  • Creating the daily production schedule.
  • Assembling and distributing work order packets to the production floor.
  • Changing work order structures based on substitution needs and product availability.
  • Creating work orders and prework orders as needed.
  • Reviewing and making corrections to the Operator Screen Editor.
  • Scheduling resources needed to move components to other facilities and to receive inbound shippers and containers.
  • Reviewing all component needs required for production and packaging of work orders.
  • Delegating work orders to appropriate work centers.
  • Maintaining various reports required by the GM of Dallas Plant.
  • Participating in Human Relations issues associated to the defined area of responsibility.
  • Preparing performance evaluations of direct reports, providing counseling on methods of improving performance and disciplining employees when necessary, enforcing company systems, policies and procedures.
  • Notifying GM, Master scheduler and Maintenance Manager of any issues arising in Production.
  • Daily communication to appropriate parties for any changes required, inventory issues, supply issues, procedural issues regarding pulling, scanning or negatives.
