About The Position

As a Manager, Production Scheduling at Atlas Tube Zekelman Industries , you will play a key role in optimizing production planning and scheduling processes to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery. This position is responsible for developing and managing production schedules, aligning capacity with demand, and driving continuous improvement across scheduling and planning functions. You will collaborate closely with Production Planning, Procurement, Operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure material availability, resolve scheduling challenges, and maintain uninterrupted production flow. This role is ideal for an analytical, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and excels at balancing multiple priorities while driving operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP and production planning systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and work effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, oversee, and optimize weekly rolling production schedules for tube mill operations.
  • Plan and coordinate workflow across departments to meet production targets and customer requirements.
  • Analyze demand forecasts against mill capacity and recommend corrective actions to address gaps.
  • Track production progress, expedite delayed operations, and adjust schedules to resolve unplanned issues.
  • Manage slit process orders for both internal and external slitters.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure material availability and production efficiency.
  • Resolve discrepancies related to raw materials and finished goods inventory.
  • Collaborate with steel procurement teams to align material availability with production needs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication of scheduling and production information across teams.
  • Provide clear updates on production status, planning priorities, and execution objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze production performance using material and production control systems.
  • Prepare and present production, scheduling, and performance reports to leadership.
  • Identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
