Manager, Product Telemetry Lead

LSEG•Buffalo, NY
•$110,400 - $184,000

About The Position

Join the Data & Analytics Division, a team that thrives on a product-led mindset, embraces the future of AI, and remains relentlessly focused on putting the customer first. As part of our high-performing digital, content, and channels team, you’ll help us create brilliant digital experiences across all internal communications and the channels we own. Your ability to interpret and utilize data and analytics to deliver your work and support the team is crucial. As Manager, Product Telemetry Lead, you will establish a product telemetry capability that helps our teams understand how customers engage with our products and turn complex usage data into meaningful, actionable insights. Working across multiple Analytics businesses, you will define the metrics that matter, partner with Product and Engineering to determine how those signals should be captured and create reporting that enables better product and commercial decisions. This is an opportunity to build something new. You will combine product-management judgment, data fluency, and technical curiosity to transform fragmented information into a scalable measurement framework. You will not need to be a software engineer or write perfect SQL, but you should be comfortable working directly with data, validating results, and leading informed technical conversations with engineering partners.

Requirements

  • Curiosity and Knowledge of AI: We value team members who bring at least a foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence—or a strong passion to grow in this space. At LSEG, we’re applying AI to streamline operations, enhance decision-making, and deliver better outcomes for our customers.
  • Product-Led Mindset: As a product-driven organization, we expect employees to embrace a product-led approach—prioritizing user experience, data-driven decisions, and continuous improvement in everything we build.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy and roadmap for analytics product telemetry, from instrumentation at the gateway through to the reporting and visualization built on top of it
  • Collaborate with product teams to define what gets captured and what it means: the event schema, the identity and entitlement dimensions, and the rules that make usage comparable and actionable across products surfaces
  • Partner with the cloud data platform teams who own storage and pipeline, translating product requirements into what the platform needs to capture and retain
  • Inform the consumption layer: dashboards, usage reporting and the visualizations that make customer behaviour legible to the teams who act on it
  • Turn usage data into an account of the customer experience — where workflows succeed, where they stall, and which surfaces customers are actually choosing
  • Run discovery with your internal consumers across product, commercial, client service and engineering, and treat them as customers of what you build
  • Hold the line on data quality and consistency, and be the person who can say what a number means and where it came from
  • Act as the subject matter expert on usage data for commercial, client service and internal stakeholders
  • Track how consumption patterns are changing, particularly agentic and AI-assisted usage, and make sure measurement keeps pace with them
