Manager, Product Manager - Hotels Tax & Compliance, Capital One Travel

Capital OneMcLean, VA
$149,800 - $205,100

About The Position

Our Hotels organization is evolving, and we are launching a dedicated Tax and Compliance vertical to ensure our platform meets global regulatory standards. Historically, tax requirements lived across various teams; now, we are giving this domain a formal "home." As the first Product Manager for this new team, you will lead a lean, scrappy pod of engineers, focused on building a scalable, compliant foundation. This is a "0-to-1" opportunity characterized by high ambiguity and heavy stakeholder management. You will act as the strategic bridge between Legal, Risk, and Engineering, taking complex regulatory advice and translating it into a technical roadmap. Because tax impacts nearly every corner of our tech stack, you will navigate diverse touchpoints across the organization to ensure our back-end systems handle tax logic with precision.

  • Detail-oriented and enjoy parsing legal requirements to turn them into clear, actionable engineering tasks.
  • Comfortable working deep in the tech stack, requiring a strong grasp of system architecture and logic.
  • Thrive in undefined spaces, able to look at the "big picture," identify gaps in how we currently operate, and build the "proper" way to do things from scratch.
