About The Position

Capital One Product Management focuses on reimagining the status quo, identifying value-creation opportunities, and using technology to create innovative, sustainable customer experiences. The Account Opening Decisioning (AOD) team is the digital front door of Retail Bank. It determines whether to open accounts, helping good customers apply seamlessly while preventing bad actors from opening accounts. The team builds the policies, models, and data integrations that power automated decisions and creates empathetic, trust-building experiences for customers and associates when human review is needed. As the Detection Product Manager, you will set the vision and strategy for evolving detection capabilities from a static defense into a proactive, adaptive growth engine. You will own the full detection lifecycle, using data and model strategies to counter sophisticated fraud rings while enabling frictionless experiences for low-risk applicants. The role partners closely with Data Science, Engineering, Enterprise teams, and other AOD product team members. Successful Product Management in this role is grounded in five areas: human-centered customer focus; business-focused outcomes, leverage, and execution; technology-driven, resilient solutions for near- and long-term value; integrated problem solving that resolves complex issues and mitigates product risks; and transformational leadership that aligns cross-functional teams around customer problems. The role is designated hybrid, with required on-site presence at the designated office in accordance with Capital One's hybrid policy. The position is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives. Capital One also offers a comprehensive benefits package; eligibility varies by employment status and management level.
