About The Position

The Manager, Product Development leads the end-to-end management of product specifications and lifecycle processes to ensure alignment with business objectives and member needs. This role collaborates cross-functionally to drive product initiatives, resolve issues through root cause analysis, and deliver quality products on time. By leveraging market insights and performance data, the manager supports strategic product decisions and continuous improvement. Additionally, this position fosters strong partnerships, oversees sourcing activities, and guides team development while upholding company standards and promoting operational excellence across all product development stages. This position is based on-site in Bentonville, Arkansas. The team delivers high-quality, functional products that enhance member experiences across the Sporting Goods category. By integrating product innovation, design, and assortment planning, the team manages product development from concept to delivery with a strong focus on quality, performance, and member value. Collaborating across functions, the team applies strategic insight and effective project management to meet member needs and support business goals. Committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence, the team drives product lifecycle management and fosters strong communication to ensure successful execution and impactful product offerings.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing product specifications throughout the entire product lifecycle to meet quality and member requirements.
  • Strong skills in cross-functional project management, collaborating effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Expertise in product strategy development supported by data analysis and industry benchmarking.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and recommend solutions to resolve product issues promptly.
  • Excellent communication skills to provide clear updates and align teams on product initiatives.
  • Demonstrated capability to streamline processes and drive continuous improvement in product development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Design, or related field and 2 years’ experience in design, merchandising, marketing, or related area OR 4 years’ experience in design, merchandising, marketing, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate progress and updates to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Lead and develop team members, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
