We are currently in search of a Procurement & Product Strategy Manager to join our U.S Mission Impact team! The Procurement & Product Strategy Manager is responsible for managing the acquisition, allocation, and program designation of food and essential products used in our work to reduce child hunger in the U.S. This includes managing purchase of product through vendor vetting, bid solicitation, purchase approvals, and ordering as well as working closely with colleagues to determine program-appropriate use for current and incoming inventory. The Manager is also responsible for planning, forecasting, and managing program product budgets in close partnership with program, supply chain, and finance leaders, ensuring that product investments are aligned with program design, scale, and impact timelines. The Manager serves as a core integrator between impact strategy, donor relations, and supply chain execution, translating impact goals into clear product requirements, purchasing decisions, and inventory controls. Note: The ideal candidate for this position will work hybrid from our corporate office in Oklahoma City, OK, however all qualified candidates will be considered nationwide.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; degree in supply chain management, business, nonprofit management, public health, or a related field preferred.
3–5+ years of experience in procurement (including relationships in the food industry), supply chain, product sourcing, or gift-in-kind management.
Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional environments where program goals and operational constraints must be balanced.
Strong budgeting, forecasting, and cost-analysis skills, with the ability to translate program plans into actionable product and spending strategies.
Experience within mission-driven, humanitarian, or nonprofit organizations strongly preferred.
Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks independently while meeting tight deadlines required.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation and relationship management skills required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint required.

Responsibilities

Translate program logic models into clear product specifications, including categories, quality thresholds, pack configurations and shelf life.
Serve as the product strategy partner to US Mission Impact department directors, developing and annually updating a prioritized list of targeted products required to drive specific outcomes within defined timelines.
Support efforts to use program feedback, utilization data, and other learnings to continuously refine product sourcing strategy.
Partner with U.S. Mission Impact department leaders to support development of annual budgets for program-related food and essential products based on program design, scale assumptions, and target populations and incorporating projections for available budget-relieving donated product.
Translate program plans and timelines into product-level cost estimates, including unit costs, pack configurations, freight considerations, and timing of purchases.
Support development of program cost-per-family or cost-per-child estimates related to product inputs, contributing to budgeting, evaluation, and external reporting as needed.
Ensure product purchasing plans are aligned with approved funding sources, grant constraints, and internal financial controls, working closely with department leadership and Finance Department to support compliance and audit readiness.
Monitor product expenditures against approved budgets and identify variances, cost pressures, and mitigation strategies, including alternative product options or sourcing strategies.
Develop and maintain clear documentation and decision rationale for major product and budget tradeoffs to support leadership review and audit readiness.
Develop and/or expand industry relationships and negotiate best pricing to drive mission impact.
Collaborate with Corporate Partnerships team to identify areas of opportunity for discounted product purchases through corporate donors with a focus on mission fit; ensure purchases within competitive categories create opportunities for first right-of-refusal with existing donors, in alignment with Feed the Children’s procurement policies.
Conduct and document vendor vetting, including food safety, quality, reliability, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Provide analysis and recommendations to leadership on tradeoffs between product cost, nutritional or functional quality, availability, and impact outcomes.
Ensure sourcing decisions appropriately consider supply reliability, lead times (including for “just in time” inventory management) and risk, in addition to price.
Manage product procurement in alignment with program strategy and organization processes and procedures by preparing and processing purchase approval documentation and purchase orders.
Assess the supply of Gift in Kind product for program use and how supply impacts purchasing decisions.
Align purchasing cadence with distribution plans to minimize excess inventory, storage costs, and product spoilage or obsolescence.
Define which products (both donated and purchased) are eligible for which programs and restrict for specific use based on strategy and annual workplan.
Establish and maintain program-level product guardrails, including restrictions on misaligned, excess, or low impact product.
Support efforts to identify and surface product-related risks (e.g., cost volatility, supply disruption, storage constraints) and recommend mitigation strategies.
