Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Management and day-to-day supervision of the SBA and Portfolio Management Team, inclusive of the Special Assets team. This includes hiring, coaching, performance reviews, establishing and tracking KPIs/KRIs, and terminations. Assure that the staff is fully trained, that cross-training is provided, collaboration and teamwork is required and reinforced, and ongoing training opportunities are offered
  • Manage a portfolio of existing credit relationships ensuring credit quality, soundness of risk ratings, condition of credit files and adherence to Bank loan policy and regulatory guidance.
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk management practices and the regulatory loan risk rating scale, with ability to identify and escalate recommendations for changes.
  • Complete and document a defined number of loan reviews, which includes a preliminary evaluation of financial records, on a quarterly basis for all loans in the portfolio and classified in regular servicing status.
  • Prepare internal documentation, as applicable, to memorialize material changes to the loan since approval.
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in structuring and negotiating loan agreements, with proven ability to manage and resolve workout and distressed credit situations to maximize recovery and mitigate risk.
  • Oversee the credit department loan presentations or quarterly reviews to present to the chief credit officer and/or loan committee.
  • Work with the chief credit officer in preparation for loan committee review.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, credit requests or servicing requests in a timely manner, consistent with the Small Business Administration’s SOP 50 57 (4) and Bank loan policy.
  • Proactively identify cross-selling opportunities through borrower interactions, promoting bank lending and deposit products to drive relationship growth and portfolio production.
  • Review daily reports of delinquent loans and take affirmative action to collect payments on past-due accounts driving down delinquency and non-performing loans
  • Document customer communications, both written and verbal, in designated record-keeping platforms.
  • Conduct reviews of existing loans for compliance, quality, covenant, and exception monitoring, acting timely for action on both risk rating upgrade or downgrades
  • Monitor delinquent real estate tax reports.
  • Monitor all insurance requirements associated with the loan and determine whether force-placed insurance is appropriate.
  • Review documentation generated by SBA and Sr. Portfolio Managers and assist in any modifications that may be needed prior to the documents being executed.
  • Oversee the monitoring of Other Real Estate Owned Portfolio
