About The Position

Oversees the day-to-day activities of plant technical services organization that ensures reliability and performance across all production, support, and engine room (utility) equipment within the operation. Drives the development of objectives, strategies and plans within tech services organization, and ensures that they are aligned with the safety, quality, delivery and cost goals of the operation, and that they support the corporate vision of asset care and reliability. Assures work performed is in compliance with relevant company and legislative (safety and quality) requirements. Accountabilities Follow technology and equipment developments (including non-food related industries) to assist the department in developing proactive and innovative processes to increase operational reliability along with increasing the company's competitive advantage. Support and execute plant PM activities. Lead in the creation of a reliability centered culture across the facility. Develops and execute preventative and predictive strategies and ensures line maintenance teams and support groups are aligned with those strategies. Provide the technical leadership and input in supporting the plant’s initiatives in cost reduction, productivity improvements, quality systems, safety awareness and shrink reduction efforts. Demonstrates technical abilities of manufacturing equipment; is a technical resource for direct reports, internal and external customers. Develop departmental budgets, KPIs, baseline current state, and utilize the data to improve department effectiveness (including safety, reliability, productivity, and quality) for the line maintenance, reliability and refrigeration/utility workgroups. Leads and develops a team of supervisors and techs to achieve personal, department, plant specific, and company objectives through coaching, training, and feedback. Utilizes the performance management process to effectively and consistently drive accountability for expected results. Fosters a culture within the department and plant which is focused on company fundamentals. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field or equivalent.
  • Minimum (5) five years industrial maintenance experience; (3) three of which are in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge - Maintenance reliability.
  • Through knowledge of maintenance techniques including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical.
  • Knowledge and adherence to WDI good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
  • Skills - Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and stress effectively.
  • Must have good leadership skills and be able to mentor others.
  • Project Management skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Abilities - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization
  • Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions.
  • Able to manage, diffuse and resolve conflict.
  • Ability to lead and manage change.
