The Manager of Plant Operations is responsible for the daily management of personnel within the Plant Operations Department. This role involves managing team member schedules, approving time for payroll processing, monitoring and delegating work assignments, and resolving all operations issues. The Manager will also coordinate with vendors and staff, complete annual performance evaluations, and oversee daily events. This includes coordinating required regulatory activities in the Environment of Care and Life Safety, supervising and performing preventive maintenance, maintaining maintenance logs, and managing work order systems. The position is also responsible for developing Department Organizational Action Plans (OAP), monitoring Central Plant operations, and responding to electrical outages. Coordination with other departments for planned outages (electrical, water, gas, etc.), facility maintenance to comply with regulatory agencies, and minor construction planning and coordination is essential. The Manager will effectively use and role model current leadership techniques and theories, encouraging staff decision-making skills and providing insight in complex situations. They will ensure information disseminated to staff is monitored for effectiveness and changed as needed, and will understand and enforce hospital and personnel policies and procedures. Serving on hospital and Patient Care Services committees, teams, and work groups as requested, and performing other duties as assigned are also part of the role.
