About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing all functional areas of the plant, including the efficient operation of three production shifts, maintenance, safety, shipping and receiving, sanitation, scheduling, quality, and process improvement. Key areas of responsibility include administering contracts with service providers; motivating managers to provide guidance and programs that enhance the skill levels of team members; resolving issues related to the quality of incoming and outgoing goods; and reviewing cost and performance data to identify areas for improvement. This role also requires compiling a weekly efficiency report, obtaining approval for, and executing all capital improvements for the facility. The position is accountable for food safety, food quality, and regulatory compliance. Additional duties include initiating and implementing improvements across all phases of production, assisting in identifying, evaluating, and correcting problems, and performing other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge in a general or technical field, typically acquired through a four-year college degree (bachelor’s degree) or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Previous successful experience at a similar level of responsibility or demonstrated readiness for such a role.
  • Intermediate computer skills required.
  • Above-average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Responsible for managing multiple groups of personnel performing diverse tasks across several departments.
  • Approximately 4 to 10 trips per year.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in bakery operations, sandwich assembly, deli ham, and/or other processed meat production is a plus.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) preferred.
